DC Voters!
In the June 2026 primary election, DC voters will have the chance to choose a new mayor, council members, and even a new Delegate to Congress. What will be different this election is ranked choice voting. Your ballot will look different. The process will change. But don’t worry; we’re here to help.
It’s simple: ranked choice voting allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference – first choice, second choice, third choice, and so on. Ranked choice voting lets your vote count toward another candidate if your first-choice candidate does not receive enough votes.

Marking your ranked choice voting ballot is as easy as ranking your favorite foods! The resources below will help you prepare to cast your ballot in the June 2026 Primary Election.
